Springwood Family Church is a community of Christians who live in the Blue Mountains 1 hour west of Sydney. We meet in House Churches during the week and also in Corporate Gatherings every Sunday in the Upper Room of Springwood Civic Centre.
Springwood
Family Church is a post denominational church affiliated with
the Crosslink Christian Network headed by Rev
Brian Medway in Canberra.
Jesus Christ is the head, we are just apart of the body. We
are completely dependant upon the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Our services are Pentecostal/Charismatic
- if you decide to visit, you will expect to find warm friendly
and loving people, passionate spirit-led worship, powerful and
anointed preaching, prayer ministry toward the end of each service.
Our emphasize is different, we are exploring
new ways of being the church; we want to be a place of habitation
for the glory of God to dwell. And we know his glory is not
confided to buildings but on the shoulders of men and women.

Kate grew up in a strong Christian family, and has always had the call of God upon her life. Kate grew up under the ministry of Gordan Gibbs at Penrith Christian Life Centre. During her Water Baptism Service Kate received a prophecy from Pastor Gordon that mentioned Gods will for her to impart truth and woisdom through a Teaching Ministry. And that God wanted her to "prepare for Mimistry."
At a Vision 95, a Conference hosted by Tabor College at Homebush States Sports Centre Kate received the call of God to Bible College in 1995 after seeking Gods will for her life during her final years of High School. Her number one desire was to life for God and be used by Him in every area of her life!
Kate has a deep love for the Lord, and a passion for the Word of God and prayer. Along with that God continually places His love for children upon her heart.
Between 1995-1997 Kate attended Hillsong International Leadership College at Castle Hill, went on two Mission Trips to China, smuggling Bibles and preaching the Word of God. She was actively involved in Youth Ministry for 5 years, and assisted with Childrens Ministry.
In 1998 Kate commenced studies at the University of Western Sydney to study for three years to become a Teacher.
Currently Kate serves in a Pastoral/Teaching gift and God continues to place His will on her heart for His Bride.
This statement of faith provides the basic foundation of Christian beliefs. It is not a systematic theology or exclusive definition of Christian faith, but a guide to understand the theological perspective of Springwood Family Church.
God created heaven, earth and all that exists, including mankind. God is described as three persons (trinity): God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19, 2Corinthians 13:14) They are indivisible yet distinguishable. Humankind, both male and female are made in the image of God. But humankind rejected Gods rulership of them and turned from God. (Romans 3:10-12) Gods punishment for humankinds rejection and rebellion from Him is death and judgment. (Hebrews 9:27)
Because of His love, God sent Jesus Christ into the world. Jesus lived under Gods rule and by dying in our place, He took our punishment to give us forgiveness of our sins.(1Peter 3:18) He was crucified, but on the third day, God raised Jesus Christ to life again as the ruler of the world.(1Peter 1:3) God now gives eternal life through the sacrificial blood of Christ to all who believe in Him and call upon His name in repentance.(Ephesians 1:7)
As a sign of their commitment to Christ, believers observe the ordinance of baptism by immersion and remember the work of Christ through regular participation in communion. (Matthew 28:19-20, Luke 22:15-20)
As a body of believers, the Church is to continue the work of Christ by proclamation of His salvation, with signs and wonders following to people everywhere. (Mark 16:15-18) For this reason, God sent His Holy Spirit to empower believers in this task. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are for present day operation; to the body of Christ and as a witness to unbelievers alike, to build up the Church of Christ and to give glory to God.(Acts 2:4, Luke 11:13, 1Corinthians12-14)
As the Church of Christ, there is the assurance that Christ will return a second time. Those that believed in Him shall receive everlasting life. Those that rejected Him, shall receive everlasting punishment.(1Thessalonians4:17, Revelation 21:6-8)
This testimony of Gods relationship with humankind is found in the bible; the inspired, infallible and written word of God.(2Timothy 3:16, 2Peter 1:19-21)
